This agreement outlines the terms and conditions for renting equipment from Everyday Camera.

1. Renter Information

  • The renter agrees that the information provided during checkout is accurate and that they are responsible for the equipment during the entire rental period.

2. Rental Period

  • The rental period begins on the scheduled pickup date and ends on the agreed return date.
  • Please refer to our opening hours for pickup and returns. Early pickups or late drop-offs must be arranged in advance.

3. Equipment Responsibility

  • The renter assumes full responsibility for the equipment during the rental period. Equipment must be returned in the same condition it was provided, excluding normal wear to the camera body. The lens, however, must be returned in pristine condition. A protective lens filter is provided to help keep the lens clean and free from scratches.
  • The renter is responsible for any loss, theft, or damage that occurs during the rental period.

4. Risks & Limitations of Super 8 Equipment

  • The Renter acknowledges the inherent risks of shooting on Super 8 film using vintage cameras.
  • While all equipment is tested and regularly maintained, these cameras are decades old and occasional inconsistencies or malfunctions may occur. Exposure is the responsibility of the Renter. Improper use of a light meter or incorrect settings may result in underexposed or overexposed footage, for which Everyday Camera cannot guarantee results.
  • By renting this equipment, the Renter accepts the unpredictable nature of analog filmmaking and agrees that Everyday Camera is not liable for any loss of footage or image quality issues.

5. Damage or Loss

  • If equipment is returned damaged, the renter may be charged the cost of repair or replacement.
  • If equipment is lost or stolen, the renter is responsible for the full replacement value of the item.

6. Proper Use

  • The renter agrees to use the equipment in a careful and proper manner and in accordance with its intended use.
  • Equipment must not be modified, disassembled, or repaired by the renter.

7. Film & Media Disclaimer

  • Everyday Camera is not responsible for lost or damaged film, footage, or media resulting from camera malfunction, user error, or processing issues.
  • Everyday Camera is not responsible for the content recorded on rented equipment. The renter is solely responsible for all material filmed, photographed, or otherwise captured, including compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Everyday Camera disclaims any liability for illegal, offensive, or inappropriate content created using its equipment.

8. Deposit & Charges

  • A refundable security deposit will be taken upon equipment booking. The deposit will be used to cover damages, late fees, or replacement costs if necessary.
  • The customer will inspect the camera and equipment at the time of collection and confirm its condition by signing a waiver.

9. Late Returns

  • Late returns will be charged at the daily rental rate until the equipment is returned.

10. Agreement Acceptance

  • By completing the booking and accepting this agreement at checkout, the renter confirms that they have read and agree to these terms.
